This is the latest version of work permit system and has brought a number of changes to the previous system. It has made English language and maintenance necessary requirements to be fulfilled and also introduced a very stringent criteria for resident labour market test.

It falls under the PBS and applicants are required to score a minimum of 70 points in the following way:

Attributes (Education, Expected salary, Sponsorship) - 50 points
English language - 10 points
Maintenance - 10 points

There are some minor details that one has to take care of, throughout the whole procedure i.e. right from resident labour market test till making visa applications. The UKBA has also introduced very stringent reporting duties on the employers and made incumbent on them to keep an eye on their overseas workers and keep all record up to date.
